Member Bio's


Ev Bishop

Ev Bishop is a freelance writer and columnist with the Terrace Standard.  Her non-fiction has appeared in a variety of regional and international publications, and she hopes to have a novel published sometime soon.  If she's not reading or at her computer, you’ll find her playing with her kids or hanging out at the lake. 


Jen Brubacher

Jen Brubacher is a librarian when she isn't writing her own books. She lived in Edinburgh for a few years before moving to Terrace, and now lives in London, England. She writes mysteries, spy thrillers, ghost stories, and whatever comes next.


Daniel Buxton

Daniel Buxton enjoys writing fantasy fiction and silly short stories, and has dabbled in poetry.  Most of his work revolves around Christian themes, and some of his favourite fantasy literature was written by J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.  He is currently working on his fantasy novel, Quest for the Forge Stone (the second of a trilogy), and hopes to complete it soon.  He has not yet been published, but he likes reading and writing immensely, and is happy to be part of the Terrace Writers' Guild.  You can contact him at happycucumbers@hotmail.com


Angela Dorsey

Angela Dorsey is a full time writer of juvenile fiction novels and more. She now lives in Port Alberni, but is still a devoted member of TWG, the best writing group ever. She can be contacted through her website at www.angeladorsey.com.


Jennifer Jones

Jennifer Jones is a third generation Terracite who writes poetry in her free time. Her paid time is spent doing communications work for the government. A third-wave zinester who is committed to self publishing, she is constantly looking for new ways to create poetry. Her inspirations are Mina Loy, Adrienne Rich and Hilda Doolittle. She loves the natural beauty of her home town: her best audiences are the trees, rivers and creeks.


Judith Lapadat

Judith Lapadat, a university professor based in Terrace, publishes in both scholarly and literary realms. Her published poetry includes the book Mixed Messages, (Caitlin Press, 2002), an anthology section in Groping Our Way Beyond Grief, (2001), and  pieces in literary journals, such as Reflections On Water (2004). She has a number of writing projects in progress spanning the genres of long fiction, creative non-fiction, autobiography, and poetry.


Aron Strumecki

Aron Strumecki is a part-time writer and full time thinker traipsing through the fields of creativity. Now living in Terrace BC, Strumecki has written for CBC Radio as well as local and regional media.


Ruth Warner-Jamieson

Ruth Warner-Jamieson has always been creative in one form or another. Poetry seems a natural gift and short stories are a new undertaking. She has sold copies of some of her poetry at the farmers market and was included in the winners circle for her first short story, written for the Skeena Diversity "My Story" competition. She is embarking on an adventure to write a book, and looks forward to the end result.


Sarah Zimmerman

Sarah Zimmerman is a former newspaper reporter and has been published in newspapers across the country. While she makes a living out of writing non-fiction, she loves to dabble in fiction. She has completed three children's books and has two unfinished novels gathering cyber-dust in her computer.
